I am going to achieve financial freedom in 5 years.

What do I mean by financial freedom? It's very simple:
You are financially free when your passive income exceeds your expenses.
If you look on the web for information about financial freedom, you will see millions of website promising you the quickest way to making millions of dollars. They talk about joining affiliate programs or network marketing ventures. They are all talking about the making of more money.

I know that making more money is important, but I also know that it is just ONE part of a three-part puzzle.

One part is making more money - what I call financial offense. This is all about finding different and more efficient ways of making money. If you are serious about financial freedom, the most desirable form of income is passive income - income you earn without spending significant amounts of time. You can earn a lot of passive income by using a variety of avenues, such as rental real estate or dividends or online business or network marketing.

The next part is learning to use your money wisely and efficiently - what is known as financial defense. The world has seen too many people who earned a whole lot of money, which did not stay with them for long. These people had not learned the habits of financial defense, and so the money that came into their lives was not respected. As a result many of them ended up broke. Financial defense gets much less press online than does financial offense, the sexy part, but financial defense skills are critical if you want to be truly financially free.

What is the third piece of the puzzle? The third and most critical piece is your personal psychology. We all know people who have sabotaged their own lives - in spite of best intentions, knowledge and advice. We all have done it in our lives to various degrees. What causes us to sabotage our own lives? This is a question that gets debated a lot in psychology, metaphysics and even theology circles! What I know is that unless you know what makes you tick and know how to work with your own self, your chances of becoming financially free are low.

I am on my own journey to financial freedom. I have created a plan that will get me there in 5 years. It comprises knowing thyself, building a strong personal foundation and developing a sense of personal mission, developing strong financial defense skills and lastly creating at least 3 independent streams of passive income. I expect to see all these pieces of this puzzle develop and mature and ultimately to culminate in financial freedom!

I will detail my progress on this website. I will tell you what works and what does not. I hope to inspire you to undertake your own voyage to financial independence!
